Hidaya Seeker App

Hidaya Seeker collects only the minimum data necessary to deliver core functionality. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

• Location Data (Approximate): With your permission, we access your device's approximate location to calculate accurate prayer times. Processed locally — never transmitted to our servers.
• Device Token: A unique token generated by Expo for push notifications. Used solely to deliver prayer reminders and daily content you've opted into.
• Usage Data: Anonymous, aggregate statistics (feature interactions, crash reports) to help improve the app. Cannot be used to identify you.

Each piece of data serves a specific functional purpose. Location enables accurate prayer times tailored to your area — a core feature of Hidaya Seeker. The device token powers the notification system for prayer alerts and daily Islamic content. Usage data helps us identify issues and prioritise features so the app remains useful and reliable.

• Location: Processed entirely on-device. No location data is uploaded to external servers.
• Device Token: Stored securely via Expo's push notification infrastructure. You can revoke notification permissions at any time.
• Security: Communications with third-party APIs are encrypted using HTTPS. We follow industry-standard practices to protect all transmitted data.

Hidaya Seeker relies on these third-party services to function. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Expo — App framework, push notifications, and crash reporting.
• Quran.com API — Quranic text, translations, and tafsir content.
• Aladhan API — Prayer time calculations and Hijri date conversion.

• Location Permission: Enable or disable at any time. Prayer times default to manual entry if location is off.
• Notifications: Opt in or out anytime via app or device settings.
• Data Deletion: Uninstalling the app removes nearly all associated data. Contact us to request deletion of any correspondence.
• Access & Correction: Request a copy of or correction to any data we hold by emailing us.

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
